Exclusive Accurascale Class 37/7 pre-orders processing now
Key Publishing's latest exclusive 'OO' gauge model of Class 37/7 37702 Taff Merthyr in Railfreight triple grey with Coal Sector logos has arrived from Accurascale with pre-orders being processed from May 18 2026.

The new release comes with the third batch of Accurascale Class 37s which include upgrades over the previous runs extending to a new powered roof fan in DCC sound fitted versions, new tooling options for the Class 37/4 and Class 37/9 plus on the second ever Accurascale Class 37/7 in 37702.
37702 is limited to 300 units split between DCC ready and DCC sound fitted. It models the locomotive following its full refurbishment from 37020 to create the heavyweight re-geared 37/7 with flush nose ends.

It was allocated to the Coal Sector and named Taff Merthyr where it was used in South Wales to haul coal trains on the steeply graded branch lines. It was also used on household coal trains formed of Cawoods coal containers. In 1993 it was fitted with unique rectangular buffers which it carried for the rest of its career until withdrawal in 2001.

Highlights of the model include newly tooled rectangular buffers specific to 37702, correct Class 37/7 nose end details, correct bogies and underframe, a fully detailed cab interior, a removable roof panel for access to the decoder socket and speaker, die-cast chassis, all-wheel drive and pick-up, a powerful five-pole motor with twin flywheels, fully functioning lighting circuits, bogie chains, sprung buffers, NEM coupling pockets and more.

Prices are set at £169.99 DCC ready and £259.99 DCC sound fitted. Pre-orders are currently being processed (as of May 18 2026) and remaining stock will be made available once pre-orders have been fulfilled.
