GBRf Class 47 47739 joins exclusive limited-edition collection
GBRf operated Class 47/7 47739 is the latest locomotive to be added to the Key Publishing collection of exclusive limited-edition models. Produced by Cavalex Models for ‘OO’ gauge, the Brush Type 4 will model the locomotive in its post-2019 condition.

It was built at Crewe Works as D1615 and entered traffic in 1964. In 1974 it became 47035 while in 1983 it was overhauled and fitted Electric Train Heat (ETH) as well as being renumbered as 47594. Its final years of BR service saw it work in the Rail Express Systems fleet as 47739.
It was stood down by 2003, now owned by EWS, and was then sold to Colas Rail Freight which it was operated by from 2007-2016 hauling a mixture of freight traffic. In 2019 it joined the GBRf fleet as one of three Class 47s acquired for rolling stock movements working alongside 47727 Edinburgh Castle and 47749 City of Truro.

The exclusive Cavalex Models 47739 model will replicate the real locomotive in ‘OO’ gauge with correct details for the modern era locomotive including lightings, cab front fittings and buffer beam fittings. The bodyshell will use the brand-new tooling in development by Cavalex Models while the internals will feature a coreless motor, four-axle drive with a floating centre axle, a 21-pin DCC decoder socket and a full suite of accurate lighting features.

47739 will be limited to 300 models split between DCC ready and DCC sound fitted versions. The full price per locomotive is £209.95 DCC ready and £309.95 DCC sound fitted. 47739 is available to pre-order now with a £30 non-refundable deposit.
