Nexus DCC sound confirmed for exclusive ‘WD’ 2-10-0
Key Publishing’s exclusive ‘OO’ gauge Special Edition Clark Railworks ‘WD’ 2-10-0 will be among the first to be fitted with Ellis Clark Trains new Nexus dual channel sound decoders.

Clark Railworks has confirmed that its new ‘WD’ 2-10-0 for ‘OO’ gauge will be its first ready-to-run locomotive to be factory fitted with Ellis Clark Trains new Nexus dual channel sound decoder. The first production run of the 2-10-0 includes Key Publishing’s exclusive model of 600 Gordon in 1960s era Longmoor Military Railway blue.
Nexus has been developed by Ellis Clark Trains as the next generation of digital sound decoder to bring a more realistic sound experience with greater clarity to its models through the use of multiple speakers playing different sounds.

The ‘WD’ 2-10-0 will have three speakers built in – two in the locomotive, one in the tender – with each used by the new Nexus DCC sound decoder to focus where the sounds come from within the locomotive.
A Plux22 decoder will be installed in the ‘WD’ with the capability to operate with DC and DCC control systems. Its specification includes a 256Mb sound memory capable of holding 12 minutes of audio recordings, a 2A continuous motor current, a 3.5A peak current rating, eight function outputs, four logic level outputs and two servo outputs. It also has a built in stay alive charging circuit together with two audio channel outputs suitable for use 4-16ohm speakers and a total 10watt audio power split between two 5watt channels.

With confirmation of Nexus Dual-Channel DCC sound for the ‘WD’ 2-10-0, Clark Railworks has confirmed that the price for the DCC sound versions will now be £415, reducing the original expected price for the model. DCC ready versions are priced at £295.
A full sound demonstration for the Nexus Dual-Sound ‘WD’ 2-10-0 will be coming soon.
