Rusty Rails Modelling Magnetic Couplings

Rusty Rails Modelling Magnetic Couplings

Rusty Rails Modelling has created a new line of magnetic couplings offering strong and reliable connections between 'OO' gauge rolling stock.

Designed to clip into NEM coupling pockets and replace tension lock designs, the new magnetic couplings hand-assembled in North Wales. They combine reliable performance and effortless coupling.

By replacing traditional tension-lock couplers, these sleek, low-profile alternatives add an authentic layer of detail to your layout while ensuring your trains remain securely connected over gradients and through complex trackwork.

Key Product Features

  • Handcrafted Quality: Every single coupler is meticulously 3D printed and hand-assembled by Rusty Rails Modelling.
  • Premium Materials: Crafted from high-grade black resin for a durable, clean finish that blends seamlessly into the underside of your locomotives and rolling stock.
  • Unrivalled Magnetic Strength: Equipped with ultra-strong, premium N52 neodymium magnets (3mm x 2mm), ensuring a powerful and reliable connection that holds firm under prototypical operational loads.
  • Universal Fitting: Engineered to slot directly into standard NEM sockets, making installation quick and straightforward for a wide range of locomotives and rolling stock.

They are designed for simple installation and two lengths have been created - 10mm and 12mm, referring to the distance from the coupling pocket to the face of the magnet - which are suitable for a wide range of rolling stock. However, they are not suitable for use with models designed with a step-down coupling such as the Bachmann BR Mk 1.

Product features include polarity markings on the shaft of the coupling while their construction makes them simple to handle and use.

The new Rusty Rails Modelling magnetic couplings are in stock now priced at £9.99 for a pack of seven pairs.
